June 1, 2017: I’ve just compiled most of the data from our 2017 Harvest Trial. We included second leaf (year and a half old) Arcadia, Endura and Third leaf (two and a half year old) Winter Bell and Kestral realizing that the yield of the Arcadia and Endura will be about half of what they will likely do next year. We only continued the trial until May 1, 2017 because we decided to run a machine harvester over the plot to access percent packout for some of the numbered varieties that were in the same row. Since the Winter Bells were not in that row we continued picking until we were done with the normal harvest. The total yield for Winter Bell for 2017 per acre through May 17 was over 25,000 lbs! Yield for Arcadia through May 1st was almost 8500 lbs. I would expect it to double that production next year for almost 20,000 lbs per acre. I have the raw data sheets and when I remember how to add them I will add them to the website.
